When you go down the rue Jean-Baptiste Pigalle in the south you will reach the Trinité Church and then the huge department stores which will remind you that Paris is the Capital of Fashion. From the stores of Galeries Lafayette and Printemps you will pass by thousands of boutiques where you will no doubt find the souvenir to take home. And just opposite stop and admire the magnificent dome of the Garnier Opera House.   The Louvre is now just a 10 minute walk away southwards from the Place de l'Opéra; to the west another 10 minutes lies the Madeleine; passing by the Brongniart Palace then on to the districts of the Halles and Châtelet which lie 15 minutes to the east.
